Former Bafana Bafana captain Thulani Hlatshwayo says the Betway Premiership title is for Orlando Pirates to lose, suggesting they are favourites to win it this season.
Pirates are currently top of the table, with 51 points, with eight league games remaining, with Sundowns trailing by one point – with a game in hand but will be juggling continental commitments during this period, currently in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.

Sundowns play their game in hand against Chippa United at Loftus Versfeld on Good Friday – before turning their attention to their first leg tie against Taraji next Sunday in Rades.
While it’s a race that will likely go down to the wire between Miguel Cardoso and Abdeslam Ouaddou’s men, ‘Tyson’ feels Pirates have the egde despite them chasing their first league title since 2012 and Sundowns aiming for a ninth successive crown.
“For me it’s for Pirates to lose, yeah – everywhere I go they ask who I think will win the league, for me, look at the last five games, like you mentioned they could have scored two more goals against TS Galaxy, it will go down to the wire with goal-difference,” he said on the Arena Sports Show.
“Discipline and everything, they have done it before, they are experienced, Sundowns are experienced with this and picking up [form] now. As much as coach Cardoso and journalists check, at this point of the year Sundowns had scored this and how many points they had. They have a goal everywhere for Sundowns – but for me? To answer your question, it’s for Pirates to lose.
Pirates next game will see them host top-eight chasing Golden Arrows at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Tuesday, 7 April.
