Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that some of their technical team members have earned a CAF A coaching license.
Amakhosi are back in action on Monday, when they will face ORBIT College in the Betway Premiership at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
However, on Thursday the club confirmed that three of the coaches from their youth and development ranks, as well as from the newly-unveiled Kaizer Chiefs Ladies team completed their CAF A licenses.
“Kaizer Chiefs celebrate another proud milestone this week as three of their coaches Rory Minnaar, Jimmy Jambo, and Unathi Mabena have successfully obtained their CAF A Diplomas after completing the required courses,” the club stated.
“Minnaar currently serves as the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy (KCYDA) goalkeeper coach and is one of only five goalkeeper coaches in the country who hold this qualification; Jambo oversees the U15 side, while Mabena leads the newly introduced KC Ladies team.”
Chiefs Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr. has commended the trio of coaches, saying he hopes they will impart the acquired knowledge onto the club’s players.
“We are extremely proud of the trio. Coaches Jimmy, Rory, and Unathi have made us proud with this achievement, which allows them to coach at the highest level in international football. It’s a remarkable accomplishment for the Club and our players,” Motaung Jr. told the club’s website.
“Modern football requires coaches to continuously stay up to date with the latest developments, and we want to ensure that high-level coaching is available not only for the senior team but across all seven teams representing Kaizer Chiefs.
“We trust in the ability of our coaches to impart their acquired knowledge and expertise to our boys in the KCYDA and with our young ladies as they compete in the Gauteng Development League, DStv Diski Challenge and the Sasol League.”
