Milford Coach Eyes Upset, Counting on Surprise Factor vs Galaxy

Milford FC head coach Xanti Pupuma says his side has some understanding of TS Galaxy but admits there is still plenty unknown — something they hope to use to their advantage.

The two teams are set to clash in the Nedbank Cup semi-final on Sunday, 5 April at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00.

Milford are one of two remaining teams left in the competition, while Durban City narrowly beat Casric Stars in Saturday’s first semi-final.

Pupuma says his side is determined to catch Galaxy off guard as they push for a place in the final.

“We know TS Galaxy—we’ve watched them many times, so it’s not something we can say we don’t understand about them,” said Pupuma.

“It’s about what we bring on the day, trying to compete at that level, and hopefully God will be on our side. But we have to show up.

“Having said that, I don’t think they know much about us, and it’s our opportunity to surprise them. Let’s see how they react to us, and how we respond to their approach.”

Pupuma says that, hopefully, if they reach the final, they would like to win the trophy.

“We just have to play, enjoy ourselves, and give our best,” he added.

“The dream is to reach the final and hopefully lift the cup at the end of the day. That’s the dream for everyone, including this team.”
