Casric earned a reputation as “giant killers” during their impressive run, having eliminated top-flight sides Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu FC along the way.
Mthombeni noted that the biggest takeaway was the team’s ability to deliver strong performances while also securing important results against high-level opposition.
“No, games are not the same. I don’t want to compare the two [AmaZulu and Pirates ones], but games are different. I think each team play its own style, but it’s fine,” said Mthombeni.
“I will only, for myself, take positive in how the team play because the rest is history.”
He added that as they continue their push for promotion to the top flight, the focus will be on improving their finishing, urging his strikers to be more clinical in front of goal to secure the results they need.
“We have to make sure that the strikers score goals,” he added.
