Lorch Stars In Rulani Debut

Thembinkosi Lorch was involved in two goals as Rulani Mokwena started his reign at Al Ittihad SC with a comfortable 4-1 win.

Mokwena joined the Libyan giants from MC Alger, leaving the Algerian side at the top of the Ligue 1 and almost guaranteed to win the league title.

At Al Ittihad he found two former players in Thembinkosi Lorch and Stephane Aziz Ki.

On Sunday, Mokwena was in charge of his first official match, with Al Ittihad running riot in the first half of their match against Abu Salim.

A brace from Ahmed Al Bizi in the ninth and 28th minute, with the latter assisted by Lorch, saw them up by two goals on the half-hour mark.

‘Nyoso’ himself then got onto the scoresheet in the 36th minutes, netting via a composed shot into the far corner. before Mutassim Garfa scored his side’s fourth in the 45th minute.

The home side got one back in the 56th minute via Nene, but it wasn’t enough to spoil Mokwena’s perfect debut.

Al Ittihad booked their ticket for the Libyan Cup quarter-finals and will be back in action on Friday when they will face Shabab Al Char in the Libyan Premier League.
