Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef shared his thoughts after their third consecutive win, a 1-0 victory over Orbit College in the Betway Premiership at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
The win propelled Amakhosi into third place, with goals from Wandile Duba, Mduduzi Shabalala, and Siphesihle Ndlovu.
Youssef admitted the match was a tough test against the North West side and lauded the squad’s determination and strong showing in the second half after initially going behind.
“We expected that it would be a difficult game,” Ben Youssef told SuperSport TV.
“We started very bad in the first half. We conceded [first]. And then [later], we started to play our [normal] football.
“I think I’m so happy about the second half because the first half wasn’t good, I’m proud of the players.
“It’s a good mindset that we were losing 1-0 and came back and won the game 3-1. We created a lot of opportunities in the second half.
“Now, we have to think about the next game, congratulations to the fans and players.”
Regarding climbing the table into third place, Youssef said, “I think from the beginning of the season, we said we would take each game like a cup game.
“We don’t want to put pressure on our players. I think the targets in the team remain the same, managing each game as it comes.”
