Kaizer Chiefs striker Wandile Duba believes the team can still secure a top-two finish in the Betway Premiership this season.
Amakhosi claimed a 3-1 victory over Orbit College at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Monday afternoon, boosting their position in the standings.
The win lifted Chiefs to third place with 39 points from 21 matches. Despite trailing Orlando Pirates by ten points, Duba remains confident that a top two finish is still within reach.
“Our plan is finishing in the top two right now,” said Duba on SuperSport TV.
“We just have to win all remaining matches. If we can do that, we can get number two or three.”
Duba expressed satisfaction with the display against the North West outfit, saying they recovered well after a shaky opening spell.
“I’m very happy about the match [we played against Orbit], we didn’t start in a good way,” he added.
“But we settled into the game after 20 minutes, then we were able to get the first goal.
“We told each other that we have to calm down because we knew we had a good plan for the game and it would work, it’s just that things didn’t go well in the first 20 minutes.”
