Orlando Pirates playmaker Relebohile Mofokeng has revealed why the number 10 role is best suited for him as opposed to playing on the wing.
The 20-year-old bagged a brace as the Buccaneers thumped Golden Arrows 5-0 at the Orlando Amstel Arena to keep their title push intact.
Pirates however stayed in second position behind table-toppers Mamelodi Sundowns who narrowly Durban City 1-0 thanks to Katlego Ntsabeleng’s solitary strike.
The diminutive pacey Mofokeng also made it back-to-back Man of the Match accolades scoring five goals in two matches, taking his tally to seven goals with five assists in 19 Betway Premiership outings this campaign.
Speaking on SuperSport TV, the Bafana Bafana international was blunt on the role he prefers, which is in the pockets without having to do much running on the wing.
“I think the style we play here at Pirates, a 10 is suitable for me,” he said.
“I’m not really someone who likes running. I’m someone who prefers tiny spaces.
“So, I think number 10 position is fine for me.
“Even on the wing I like to play but the best for me is the 10 position.”
