Mofokeng Reacts To Thumping Pirates Win

Two-goal hero Relebohile Mofokeng is convinced that he’s reaping the rewards of scoring wonder goals due to his practices.

The 21-year-old put in another dominant Man of the Match performance for Orlando Pirates as they swept aside Golden Arrows 5-0 at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Tuesday night.

‘Rele’ opened the scoring with a thunderous strike into the top corner with just 16 minutes on the clock before completing his brace in the 61st minute. Oswin Appollis also grabbed two goals on the evening while the other goal was an own goal by Arrows goalkeeper Edward Maova.

After netting five goals in two matches, with back-to-back MOTM accolades, the South African senior international vowed to continue scoring more goals because he has been doing extra shooting drills.

“A very tough game. Playing Arrows is always tough but then we managed to get goals early that’s why they opened and then we got more,” he said on SuperSport TV.

“I think we have to continue scoring more because other teams come with a low block, so when we score early, it helps us because they open up.

“I’ve been practicing [scoring wonder goals] and tonight is the reward for those practices.

“When you want to score or try something, you must practice and it will turn out exactly how you anticipated it.

“So, one has to continue scoring and doing it many times over.”
