Richards Bay FC co-coach Papi Zothwane has issued a firm warning to an in-form Orlando Pirates side ahead of their Betway Premiership encounter.
The two teams are scheduled to face off on Friday, 10 April at 19:30 at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex, with both sides eager to secure a vital three points.
The Buccaneers are currently pushing hard in the race for the league title, while the Natal Rich Boyz are equally motivated to climb the standings.
Both teams head into the clash brimming with confidence after desired results in their previous fixtures—Richards Bay overcoming Stellenbosch, while Pirates delivered a dominant victory over Golden Arrows.
Zothwane acknowledged the tough challenge ahead, noting that playing the league contenders will test his troops.
However, he emphasised that Richards Bay are a difficult team to beat on their home turf. He sent a clear message that Pirates should not expect an easy outing.
“It is going to be a difficult game since they are chasing the league title,” said Zothwane, as per the club’s website.
“For us, every time we play at home, it is not easy to beat us.
“They should not come here thinking they will win easily. It is going to be a tough game, and we will be ready.”
The Buccaneers have been in devastating attacking form, netting an impressive 11 goals across their last two league matches. They began with a commanding 6-0 victory over TS Galaxy, before following it up with another dominant 5-0 win against Golden Arrows.
