Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou says he is hoping Richards Bay FC can halt the momentum of an in-form Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Buccaneers saw their Betway Premiership title hopes take a knock after being held to a 2-2 draw by Richards Bay at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex on Friday night.
The result hands Sundowns a chance to open a four-point lead if they win their next match.
Ouaddou admitted his side must now focus on staying mentally strong and not lose belief in the title race, while also expressing hope that the Natal Rich Boyz can once again frustrate Sundowns just like they did to them.
“I hope so, it’s a team that has a great character, good organisation and what is important, this fighting spirit that they have, the fitness that they have,” said Ouaddou.
“I think it’s one of the best teams in the PSL. They are very professional and they are winners.
“They are competitors. I feel that every team that comes here will suffer. Of course, we are going to watch closely that game [against Sundowns].
“For us, it’s important to keep working and to keep fighting until the last game, the last second. We don’t have the right to be pessimistic at that time.”
