iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye has echoed Polokwane City coach Phuti Mohafe’s sentiments regarding Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebohang Maboe being voted Man of the Match in the sides’ goalless draw in the league.
The two teams couldn’t be separated after 90 minutes at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, leaving them in third and seventh places respectively on the log.
Maboe won the outstanding individual accolade, a decision Mohafe bemoaned saying the midfielder was nowhere in the game and Rise and Shine benefitted from his mistakes.
Khanye agreed with Mohafe saying he was also surprised adding that he’s questioning if Maboe is being pushed to be in the Bafana Bafana World Cup squad.
“Maboe, I don’t think there’s a combination between him and [Thabo] Cele,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.
“I’m surprised Maboe is the Man of the Match today [Saturday] this is fraud. Unfortunately, that’s scandalous for me.
“I’d give credit to [Thabang] Matuludi. So, they are pushing this guy for the World Cup. And I have nothing against the selectors of the award, but fraud is fraud.
“I saw Maboe in patches in this game that’s why I’m surprised they voted him Man of the Match.”
