Durban City FC interim Pitso Dladla says it is uncharacteristic of his side to concede as many goals as they did against Magesi FC over the weekend in Seshego.
City were hammered 5-2 by the Limpopo side who helped their own survival cause as they moved out of the relegation zone on the Betway Premiership log with that result to 14th spot with 20 points.

However, for Dladla’s men they remained in sixth place with 35 points in 25 matches.
The loss to Magesi was also the side’s third on the trot in the league. The coach said this is unusual for his side and also the manner in which they conceded did not sit well with him adding that it was just a bad night for City.
“Firstly, the score line, unlike us to concede so many goals,” said Dladla.
“The game, I think we did not start it very well. First five, 10 minutes we were not there. You know, we allowed Magesi Football Club to be all over us, up until they scored the goal. If I’m not mistaken, I think they scored the goal around the 10th minute.
“And then we spoke to the boys that let’s just come back to the game, let us believe in ourselves, let us show our identity. Luckily, we equalized 1-1. From there, we thought we were controlling the game and then they scored the second goal, they scored the third goal.
“I don’t want to go deeper on how we conceded those goals, it’s something that we will deal with internally.
“We pulled one back again, [Jean] Lumumba doing very well there. Half time, we sat down, we identified our challenges. We all agreed what we’re going to do in the second half. Again you know, when we’re desperate we played like that and we conceded the fourth goal.
“We believed in ourselves, kept on going, conceded the fifth goal, and then from there, we also tried. The game just became open and a bad night for Durban City Football Club.”
