Kaze Explains Ndlovu & Cross Exclusion

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has explained the absence of midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu and defender Bradley Cross in their 2-0 loss to Siwelele FC.

Chiefs suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Siwelele in Bloemfontein with their seven-match unbeaten run coming to an end.

Amakhosi were 2-0 down just before the 30th minute, which was a shock to many, especially after their performance against Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby on Sunday.

The noticeably absentees were Ndlovu and Cross, who both played a huge role in the Soweto derby. Kaze explained that Ndlovu hasn’t trained after the Pirates game, while Cross was rested as he has played many games in the last few weeks.

“It was two changes from Cross and Ndlovu. Ndlovu didn’t train for the last two days as he felt some discomfort, and he is being assessed by our medical team; we are expecting the results tonight,” Kaze told the media.

“Bradley Cross has had a lot of games in the last few days, and we felt this was the right moment to make some rotations with only two changes.

“After the game, as a coach, you ask yourself if you should have made more changes to get fresh minds and legs, but that’s football, that’s how it is, so we’ll take this as a lesson.”

Chiefs return to action on 6 May when they will face log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns away from home.
