Durban City and TS Galaxy have named their respective starting line-ups for today’s eagerly anticipated 2026 Nedbank Cup final at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
History beckons for both Betway Premiership outfits with City heading into the final on a four match winless run though they have shown real cup-fighting spirit, narrowly beating lower division side Casric Stars 1-0 in the semis.
The KwaZulu-Natal side will be looking to write their wrongs and secure their first Nedbank Cup title after reaching the final of the 2018 edition as Maritzburg United where they were narrowly beaten by Free State Stars.
The Rockets on the other hand held their nerves to overcome Milford FC 4-3 in a tense penalty shootout to secure their final berth after a 1-1 draw in the semifinals.
Even though the Mpumalanga-based outfit has been winless in 11 league matches on the trot, they remain a dangerous opponent having previously won the Ke Yona trophy in 2019.
A spot in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup, Africa’s secondary club football competition, as well as a mouthwatering R7 million cheque is up for grabs.
In head-to-head stats, the Citizens have never lost to Galaxy. The two teams have met three times with the KwaZulu-Natal side winning all three meetings.
Here’s a look at how both sides will square up:
