Mamelodi Sundowns and Polokwane City FC have announced their starting line-ups ahead of their highly-anticipated Betway Premiership match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
Just four days ago, these two sides locked horns at the Seshego Stadium, with Sundowns emerging victorious through midfielder Marcelo Allende’s goal. The win sent Sundowns to the top of the league table with 61 points, just two points ahead of Orlando Pirates.
The win also extended Sundowns’ unbeaten run to 17 league matches. Sundowns know that today’s clash could see them open a five-point gap with a game in hand.
Meanwhile, Rise and Shine aim to secure a top-eight spot. The Limpopo-based side is currently sit in sixth place with 37 points, five points ahead of ninth-placed Siwelele FC. A win for City would see them moving closer to securing a top-eight finish and play a huge role in the title decider.
City last won against Sundowns in a league match away from home back in 2017; since then, they have suffered two defeats and managed to secure two draws.
