Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has made a bold comparison between the current Kaizer Chiefs side and the one previously led by Nasreddine Nabi.
The Brazilians were held to a 1-1 draw by Amakhosi in a Betway Premiership clash at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday night.

The result is a blow to Sundowns’ title aspirations, potentially handing the advantage to Orlando Pirates should they win their game in hand.
Despite the pressure from Chiefs, Cardoso was pleased with how his side controlled the match, especially after being reduced to ten men following Jayden Adams’ red card.
Interestingly, Cardoso remarked that Nabi’s Chiefs team was a more difficult opponent to face than the current team.
“I think last year with coach Nabi, we saw a much more dangerous Kaizer Chiefs than we saw here this year,” said Cardoso.
“Last year the two matches we played against Kaizer Chiefs, the one we played in Lucas [Moripe Stadium] and then the cup here [Loftus Versfeld].
“In transitions, the Nabi’s team was more difficult to cope rather than today because the team today, I think we stayed there.
“Even with 10 men we stayed there. We stayed aggressive in the pitch, we took control of the game and there was a lot of respect on us. So I’m happy because of that.
“But last year I think they were stronger in terms of the way they tried to counter attack us.”
