Mamelodi Sundowns striker Bryan Leon says that they wanted to score more goals and the mistakes in defence cost them.
Leon scored his first hat-trick in the Premier Soccer League in a humdinger of goals against Siwelele FC at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturdat evening.
The hat-trick if the 25-year-old took his goal tally to 14 goals in all competitions since arriving in January.
Despite netting a treble in the seven goals scored by Masandawana – the Tshwane giants conceded four goals which put a dent in their goal difference as this league might possibly be decided by if Sundowns win their last game and Pirates win all their games remaining games.
Leon mentioned the mistakes at the back cost them and going into the last game against TS Galaxy, they will aim to win the game and possibly score more goals.
“We wanted to score a lot more goals, we missed a lot, we made some mistakes at the back but important was the win, the three points to put pressure on the other team and wait for them, prepare for the next game,” Leon told SuperSport TV.
“We need to go with the same mentality of course, to win the game and score more goals if it’s possible.”
Sundowns went six points clear at the top with one game remaining before Orlando Pirates played their third-last fixture against Magesi in Polokwane at 20h00.
