Sekhukhune United interim coach Paulos Masehe has opened up about the disappointment of missing out on a third-place finish and the subsequent CAF Confederation Cup qualification spot.
Babina Noko lost the number three position to Kaizer Chiefs, who officially secured the berth following their 2-0 victory over Masehe’s men at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

Despite the setback, Masehe maintains that his side deserved a top-three finish, citing their consistency in the upper echelons of the table throughout the campaign.
“To be honest, for the players, you feel like at least it’s a little bit disappointing because they remained among the top pack for the longest time in this season,” he said.
“And they would have deserved maybe to finish at number three or number four. But we still have a chance we can finish number four.
“And of which I think it will be fair for us, for them also, because they have worked extremely hard. They deserve something better this season and they gave everything. Even today [Sunday], I cannot fault anyone.
“The effort was there, the mistakes that happened, mistakes of the game of football, that you can make mistake on the other end and you get punished on the other end.
“But as for the boys, I wish that we can just win these two games and we finish number four. So that we can complement their good effort this season.”
