Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is firmly focused on their task at hand of getting over the line as the curtain on the 2025/26 Betway Premiership draws close to an end.
Since winning the league title 14 years ago, the Pirates have never been this close to winning it. The Buccaneers find themselves in second place in the league table three points behind Mamelodi Sundowns with a game in hand.
The Sea Robbers are holding a superior goal difference which gives them an advantage but they still need to win both games against Durban City and Orbit College.
After beating Magesi FC, Ouaddou made it clear that it is in their hands now and they need to focus on themselves not worry about Sundowns who will finish their domestic season on Tuesday evening against TS Galaxy.
“We are focusing on ourselves; our destiny is between our feet. We just focus on how we want to play, how we want to be organized. You can see a strong Pirates, we don’t concede goals, we score goals,” Ouaddou told the media.
“I just told the boys to focus on how we want to play. We are not expecting anything from anybody, we are focusing on our team, and we are really confident of what we want to achieve.
“We feel strong and we are going to prepare for the next game with a lot of focus and we will give everything.”
