Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango has made a bold statement regarding a title race that seems to have shifted in favour of Orlando Pirates.
Masandawana will conclude their 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign against TS Galaxy on Tuesday at Mbombela Stadium.

Onyango insists the team must give their all to secure the desired result while hoping things go their way in the Pirates’ final two fixtures.
This means Sundowns are banking on the Buccaneers dropping points in their remaining games. The Ugandan shot-stopper noted that there is no guarantee the Soweto giants will win all their matches.
“We have to give our best. Every game is a final and as we are looking forward also to the Champions League final, we need to end the season on a high, regardless of what’s happening around us in the league,” Onyango told Sundowns media department.
“We have to stay positive and believe that it can be done. Of course, that’s the thinking from the coaching staff and also the players in general because we can’t just take every game or any game for granted.
“We have to give our best in every game and see how far we can go because we can’t guarantee that the other people will win, but we just need to stay focused and win our games.”
Onyango recalled previous seasons where the league seemed out of their reach, only for things to turn in their favour at the very end to secure the title.
“For the Sundowns supporters, they must keep believing because we’ve done it before,” he added.
“I think there’s a season we also won it at the death in Free State. Again, we won it again in the [bio] bubble. So, they must just believe that it’s possible, regardless of the situation and not being in our hands that much.
“We just need to win our last game, and hope things can turn around. But for me, I think if they keep pushing us, we also have the belief that things can turn our way. It’s not over until it’s done.”
