The Major League Soccer have revealed their salary guide for 2026, with Mbekezeli Mbokazi R10.78 million per season at Chicago Fire.
Mbokazi, 20, left Orlando Pirates in January, to make the switch to the MLS side to take the next step in his career after a stunning breakout campaign.
At Chicago, Mbokazi has a base salary of $593 000 (R9.75 million) and a guaranteed annual compensation of $655 620 (R10.78 million) per year.
With this salary, Mbokazi is among the club’s top 10 earners, sitting in ninth position, with 2023 Africa Cup of Nations winner Jonathan Bamba being the club’s top earner with $5.581 million (R91.78 million) per year.
Meanwhile, Puso Dithejane receives $250 000 (R4.1 million) in annual base salary and a guaranteed $283 252 (R4.66 million) compensation.
Lionel Messi is the league’s top earner, pocketing a stunning $28.333 million (R466 million) per year non guaranteed compensation.
He is followed by former Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-min Son with $11.152 million (R183 million).
