Brandon Truter has touched down in Gqeberha and has been introduced to Chippa United players and staff, as he is set to take over.

iDiskiTimes has been informed that Chippa United welcomed Truter today and introduced him to the technical staff and players.

Brakkies is expected to lead the Chili Boys in their last game of the season when they face Kaizer Chiefs in Durban this coming weekend.

The Eastern Cape-based team need a win to be 100% sure of avoiding the playoffs based on their own result and Truter has been brought in to do just that – avoid the playoffs.

The former Sekhukhune United head coach will be the sixth coach this season to sit on the Chippa United bench, after Sinethemba Badela, Musa Nyatama, Luc Eymael, Vusumuzi Vilakazi, and Hlanga Dikeni.

Chippa have won just one of their last 11 Betway Premiership games – a 1-0 win over Siwelele in April but have since only collected two points in their last five outings.

The Chilli Boys sit on 25 points, one ahead of ORBIT College in the playoff spot and four ahead of Magesi at the bottom of the log.

Truter, who started his coaching career in the lower ranks in the Western Cape, began his pro career at Cape Town All Stars, before moving to Richards Bay, and most famously, Swallows, whom he promoted to the Premiership. He then had spells at AmaZulu, Sekhukhune United, Richards Bay again and Upington City.
