Durban City coach Pitso Dladla has given an update on Kyle Jurgens, Luphumlo Sifumba, Fezile Gcaba and other players who were on loan at the club.

Playing in their first season in the Betway Premiership following their promotion from the second-tier, City made solid recruitment at the beginning including several loan deals.

Jurgens was one of the players who were on loan from Stellenbosch, but the club has since secured him permanently. Meanwhile, Sifumba and Gcaba, who many believed were on loan, are permanent players for the club.

Dladla expressed his delight at having the trio for next season, especially with the club also set to compete in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

“[Some of those] are our players, the club is done with them,” said Dladla.

“One of the players was seen in the news [Jurgens] being reported as signed permanently by our club.

“What I can say any coach would love to continue with those kinds of players.”

Dladla then clarified that Siphiwe Mahlangu and Ronald Maarman would be returning to their parent club, Sekhukhune United.

Meanwhile, other on-loan players, including Taahir Goedeman [Cape Town City], Terrence Mashego and Onele Rulwana [Mamelodi Sundowns] could return to their parent clubs.

“Ronald Maarman and Siphiwe Mahlangu are on loan,” he added.

“I thought you meant Kaka, Jurgens and Gcaba. Goedeman is on loan, Terrence Mashego is on loan and Onele Rulwana is on loan.”
