Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United have announced their starting line-ups for today’s final match day of the Betway Premiership.
While Amkhosi have not much but pride to play for, Chippa could still fall into the relegation/promotion playoff spot.
The Chilli Boys need a win to secure their Betway Premiership status without relying on other results, and have brought in Brandon Truter to do the job – as first reported by this publication.
Chippa, though, have won just one of their last 11 league games. Chiefs, meanwhile, could achieve their highest points tally since finishing second in 2019/20 but would need all three points to match the 57 from then.
Amakhosi have won seven of their last 11 games, a run which also includes draws Orlando Pirates (1-1) and Mamelodi Sundowns (1-1), with only Siwelele beating the Glamour Boys in that run.
The Chiefs co-coaches though will have to be without the services of suspended Glody Lilepo and Flavio Da Silva – the club’s two top scorers this season across all competitions.
Earlier in the campaign both shared the spoils in a goalless draw, with their head-to-head record in recent outings at Chiefs even, with two wins for either side and a draw.
Here is how they line up:
Chiefs XI: Mazhamba, Cross, McCarthy, Miguel, Frosler, Maboe, Ngcobo, Baartman, Vilakazi, Velebayi, Hlongwane
Subs: Petersen, Msimango, Mako, Sirino, Morris, Ndlovu, Mmodi, Chislett, Phago
Chippa XI: tbc.
