Kaizer Chiefs Ladies rallied from a goal down to beat JVW FC 2-1 and pick up their maiden win in the 2026 Gauteng Women’s Provincial League at Jeppe Quondam on Sunday afternoon.
Zanele Kunyamane and Nomfundo Motaung secured the win for Amakhosazana with both goals coming in the second period after they trailed by a goal at the break.
After suffering a 2-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in their league opener, Chiefs Ladies could only settle for a point in their second encounter in the match two days ago.
Despite giving a good account of themselves in that tie, they could only settle for a share of the spoils against M.U.S.A United Ladies in a 0-0 stalemate.
Sunday afternoon proved just as challenging for Amakhosazana after they were unable to find the breakthrough in the opening 45 minutes.
Half time team talk from head coach Unathi Mabena however seemed to have sparked life into her charges as they pulled all stops by shutting the back door and scoring twice to pick up their first three points of the season.
The rookies have now picked up four points in their opening three outings of the new campaign.
