Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has announced his final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup during a send-off dinner at the Sefako M. Makgatho Presidential Guesthouse in Pretoria.
The Belgian tactician himself will take part in his second World Cup after appearing at the 1986 event as player.

Bafana will play their final international friendly against Nicaragua at the Orlando Amstel Arena on 29 May 2026, ahead of their departure for the FIFA World Cup.
South Africa was was drawn in Group A and will face co-hosts Mexico in the opening game at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on 11 June.
They will then battle with Czech Republic on 18 June at the Merzedenz-Benz Stadium in Atlanta before closing the group stages against South Korea at Estadio BBVA, Guadalupe on 24 June.
With the top two advancing from each group, plus the eight-best third-placed teams, Bafana’s target is to make it out of the group stages for a first time in history.
On Wednesday, Broos confirmed his final 26-man squad – cutting six names from his preliminary squad.
