HONOR South Africa in Partnership with SABC Sport, SAFA, Adidas, DSAC and Gauteng Tourism will host watch parties in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal ahead of Bafana Bafana’s opening 2026 FIFA World Cup clash against Mexico on 11 June.
The two nations renew their rivalry at the global stage once again after doing the same back in South Africa in 2010 as the tie played out to a 1-1 stalemate.

The activations are aimed at bringing supporters closer on the build-up to South Africa’s participation in the World Cup.
In Johannesburg, the opening match will be on show at Mall of Africa in Midrand when South Africa vs. Mexico at 21:00, with doors opening from 18:00, while The Pavilion in Durban also features the same match.
Football lovers will be treated to appearances by artist performances, Bafana legends, as well as spot prizes to be won.

At the Mall of Africa activation, the first 300 fans to arrive will receive a soft drink voucher, with additional spot prizes during the event. HONOR, along with the Department of Sports, Arts Culture and Recreation and Gauteng Tourism, have also partnered to ensure fan safety and security during the watch party events.
