Uruguayan star Gaston Sirino is set to leave Kaizer Chiefs at the end of June when his contract expires, iDiski Times has learnt.
Sirino joined Chiefs back in August 2024 as a free agent after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns. The seven-time PSL league winner signed a two-year contract with Amakhosi, which is set to expire at the end of this month.
The 35-year-old made 25 appearances in his first season at Chiefs and scored in the final of the Nedbank Cup at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, helping the team to end a 10-year trophy drought.
In his second season with Amakhosi, Sirino played just over 800 minutes, struggling with injuries while scoring one goal and providing two assists.
The latest information received by this publication indicates that Chiefs have decided against renewing Sirino’s contract, meaning he will leave the club at the end of June.
Several Betway Premiership clubs are monitoring the Uruguayan’s situation, while his former club, San Luis de Quillota in Chile, is also keeping tabs on developments. A return to his former side remains another possible option.
