Despite not being able to capture any silverware on the domestic front, the Brazilians conquered Africa by being crowned CAF Champions League winners.
Miguel Cardoso’s charges saw off Moroccan giants AS FAR 2-1 on aggregate to claim their second star, becoming the only South African club to achieve this feat.
Van Wyk has praised the eight-time consecutive Betway Premiership champions where he is looking to make a name for himself and make a mark.
“Spending time away [in Europe] has been an incredible experience that helped me grow as a footballer and as a person,” he told the Sundowns media in his unveiling video.
“This is one of the biggest clubs on the continent. Club with a rich history, high standards and a winning culture.
“To the supporters, your passion for this club is unmatched and I cannot wait to experience that on match day.
“I’m excited for this journey. My name is Antonio van Wyk and I’m proud to be Yellow.”
Van Wyk makes a return to Mzansi having left two seasons ago to join Austrian outfit SV Ried where he gained promotion to the top tier after being snapped up from Stellenbosch FC.
