Mamelodi Sundowns defender Khulumani Ndamane has opened up about being trusted in high stake matches despite being a newcomer at the club.

Ndamane officially joined Sundowns during the January transfer window, having initially signed for the Tshwane giants at the beginning of the campaign before remaining at TS Galaxy on loan.

The defender went on to make 22 appearances across all competitions—featuring 13 times in the Betway Premiership and nine times in the CAF Champions League.

He played a pivotal role in helping Sundowns secure the coveted CAF Champions League title, lifting the first major trophy of his professional career.

Ndamane admits that being trusted in big games has been “very encouraging,” stating that the technical team’s belief in his abilities has motivated him to work even harder.

“Playing in the Champions League and being trusted to feature in such important matches so soon after my arrival was very encouraging, especially because I am still young,” said Ndamane, as per Mamelodi Sundowns Magazine.

“For the coaches to show faith in me during some of the team’s biggest games was a sign that I am on the right path and that the future is bright.

“The confidence the coaching staff placed in me motivated me to work even harder because I did not want to let them down.”
