Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of French centre-back Ibrahima Konate on a free transfer from Liverpool.
Konate, 27, joins Los Blancos on a free transfer after opting not to renew his deal with Liverpool, where he spent five years.
The strong defender is currently part of France’s squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, having represented his country 28 times since his debut in 2022.
He made 183 appearances for Liverpool, scoring seven goals and setting up four more.
Konate already becomes Real’s third signing ahead of the 2026/27 season after the club announced the arrivals of Bernardo Silva – also on a free transfer – and Marc Cucurella from Chelsea in a deal worth €55 million.
The Spanish giants are heading into a new era after the return of former coach Jose Mourinho, who will arrive for his second spell at the club.
