Nedbank Cup-winning coach Pitso Dladla is poised to take over the head coaching reins at Lamontville Golden Arrows, replacing the departed Manqoba Mngqithi.

Mngqithi, as previously reported, parted company with Abafana Bes’thende last week, with his contract set to expire at the end of June.

His departure triggered a complete technical team overhaul in Durban; just a week prior, assistant coaches Kagiso Dikgacoi and Musa Bilankulu, alongside goalkeeper coach Marcus Mashilo, all vacated their respective roles at the club.

With Arrows scheduled to report back for pre-season training this coming week, club management has moved swiftly to secure Dladla to steer the ship.

This publication has been informed that Dladla was not in training later last week as Durban City returned for pre-season as they prepare for the 2026/27 season.

Dladla took charge of Durban City on an interim basis in February 2025 following the abrupt sacking of Sinethemba Badela just three games into his tenure.

What followed was a historic spell. Under his guidance, Durban City enjoyed a spectacular conclusion to the season, famously lifting the Nedbank Cup after defeating TS Galaxy in a final in May.

Furthermore, he successfully guided the club to a commendable eighth-place finish in the Betway Premiership, with 39 points after 30 games.
