Richards Bay FC have parted ways with goalkeeper Salim Magoola ahead of the start of the new season.

The Ugandan shot-stopper joined the Natal Rich Boyz in July 2022 and established himself as one of the club’s key players during his time at the KwaZulu-Natal outfit.

The 31-year-old made 85 appearances across all competitions for Richards Bay, recording 34 clean sheets in the process.

However, Magoola found game time limited last season, featuring in just seven matches across all competitions – six in the Betway Premiership and one in the Nedbank Cup.

The club has also strengthened their defensive options with the signing of centre-back Thamsanqa Ndelu from Mkhambathi FC on a three-year contract, with the club holding an option to extend the deal by a further two years.

They have also secured the services of left-back Siphamandla Gwele from lower-division outfit Ravens FC. Gwele has signed a two-year contract, which includes an option for a further two years.
