Steve Barker’s Simba SC have secured the signing of former Stellenbosch FC midfielder Ibraheem Jabaar ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

iDiski Times has been following the communication between Simba and Jabaar closely in the past few weeks, and this publication can now confirm that personal terms have been agreed between the two camps, with just few signatures left before Jabaar is officially announced by Simba.

The 23-year-old made 29 appearances last season for Stellies, scoring two goals and contributed with two assists.

His exit at the Cape Winelands outfit is something that wasn’t easy as the club had talks with him before for a new contract, but the two sides failed to reach an agreement.

Jabaar joins a familiar coach as he worked with Barker at Stellenbosch for several seasons. He will also see some familiar faces with Anicet Aoura, Ismaël Olivier Toure and Rushine De Reuck. While Neo Maema’s loan spell is coming to an end.

Simba will play the Federation Cup final this weekend against Azam and have a chance to win their second trophy for the season after missing the league title by three points on the last day.
