Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signing of goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner on a free transfer after his departure from Sekhukhune United.
Leaner, 28, was a surprise exit at Babina Noko after the club didn’t exercise their option to extend his contract, as first reported by this publication.
He had joined Sekhukhune in 2023 from Maritzburg United, and the iKamva Academy product, went on to feature 45 times for the club, with 15 clean sheets to his name, making major strides in 2025/26 which saw him even called up to Bafana Bafana.
On Monday, Chiefs announced Leaner as their second signing ahead of 2026/27 after the arrival of Thabo Moloisane.
“Kaizer Chiefs have strengthened their goalkeeping department with the signing of renowned shot-stopper Renaldo Leaner,” the Amakhosi stated.
“Born in Cape Town 28 years ago, Leaner arrives at Naturena with a wealth of experience, having impressed last season and earned a number of call-ups to the Bafana Bafana national team.
“We proudly welcome Renaldo to the Khosi Nation!”
