Orlando Pirates have parted ways with goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi, 28, ahead of the 2026/27 season.
In three seasons with the Buccaneers, Buthelezi kept 12 clean sheets in 22 outings for the club while conceding 14 in the process.
Buthelezi joined the Buccaneers in 2023 from TS Galaxy after a string of fine performances caught the attention of the Pirates technical team at the time.
He played second fiddle to Sipho Chaine during his Pirates stay, and the club has now opted to part ways with the towering shotstopper.
“The Club extends its sincere gratitude to Melusi Buthelezi for his professionalism, commitment, and contribution throughout his time with Orlando Pirates,” the club said.
“We wish him every success in this next chapter of his career.”
He won three MTN8 titles, one Nedbank, one Carling Knockout and the Betway Premiership trophy this past campaign.
