Bafana Bafana striker Ashley Cupido has been unveiled at Israeli second tier outfit Kiryat Yam after completing his move to the club this week.
This publication reported on Tuesday that the 25-year-old Stellenbosch FC marksman had completed a season-long loan move to Kiryat.

Cupido joined Stellies in a big-money move from Cape Town Spurs in 2024, struggled for consistent minutes last season and will now look to rebuild his confidence in Israeli football.
His move comes off the back of a whirlwind rise that saw him break into the senior Bafana Bafana setup, a call-up he still regards as one of the highlights of his career, even though it didn’t translate into a World Cup berth alongside his international teammates.
The club announced his capture in a brief statement on Friday evening.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of wing player Ashley Cupido to the team uniform for the upcoming season through his agent Shay Atas from the players agency ISCOUT headed by Idan Ben Abu.
“Ashley, the extended player of the South African team in the media recorded 7 appearances and added a goal and a cook that helped the team qualify for the World Cup.
“In the last season he played in the first South African league and now he joins the club on loan for the coming season.
Cupido On His Move To Israel
“I’m happy to get to a new challenge in Israel and join Kiryat Yam, I’ve heard a lot of good things about the club and can’t wait to get on the grass with our audience.”
Club Chairman Nissim Zarfati had this to say: “We are happy that a player of this level from the South African team is coming to represent the team and our city, welcome Ashley.”
“Good luck Ashley.” 💙🤍
