Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Tashreeq Morris has been unveiled as Durban City‘s newest signing ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

This publication reported back in September 2025 that the KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit had shown an interest in the towering striker while Gavin Hunt was still at the helm.

Fast forward almost a year later, the Citizens have snapped up the 31-year-old marksman after his mutual exit from Amakhosi, where he registered just one goal in 14 outings in his brief and unsuccessful stay at Naturena.

The former SuperSport United man has now reunited with Khalil Ben Youssef at City, with the club announcing his signing.

“Durban City FC is pleased to announce the signing of Tashreeq Morris ahead of the Club’s 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign.

“The 32-year-old centre-forward joins the Citizens with more than a decade of top-flight experience in South African football, having represented Ajax Cape Town, Cape Town City FC, Sekhukhune United, SuperSport United and, most recently, Kaizer Chiefs during his professional career.

“Welcome to Durban City FC, Tashreeq!”

A New Chapter

Morris expressed gratitude in joining his new side where he looks to revive his career.

“I am delighted to be joining Durban City FC and to become part of this exciting project,” he stated.

“The Club has shown great ambition, and I am looking forward to contributing my experience, working hard for the team, and helping us achieve our objectives this season.”
