Manchester United have announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos from Chelsea FC.
Santos, 22, joined Chelsea from Vasco Da Gama in January 2021, but first returned to his home club on loan.
During the following two campaigns he was on loan at Nottingham Forrest, where he only made two appearances, and Strasbourg, making 45 appearances for the club.
Last campaign, he featured 43 times for Chelsea and United have now snapped him up after the departure of Casemiro.
Santos helped Chelsea win the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and also lifted the U-20 South American Championship with Brazil, where he was the top goalscorer with six goals.
At United, Santos signed a five-year contract with an option, joining the Red Devils in a fee estimated to be £48 million plus another £2 million in add-ons.
“Everything about Manchester United is special; it is an incredible feeling to join a club that some of my biggest idols have represented,” he told his new club.
“As a midfielder, I am really excited to have the opportunity to learn from Michael Carrick, he is the perfect coach to help me take the next step in my career and push to achieve my dreams.
“Everybody told me about how ambitious the club is and the amazing environment that has been created here. I know just how strong the squad is and I cannot wait to fight together to compete for the biggest trophies.”
