Orlando Pirates have signed teenage sensation Edmilson Chaney from Hope FC but send the player back on loan, while Lonwabo Magugwana also joined The Immortals from the Buccaneers.
IDiski Times established that Pirates concluded a deal with Hope, signing 19-year-old winger Edmilson Chaney, who will return to The Immortals on a season-long loan.
The other agreement sees defender Pirates’ DStv Diski Challenge centre-back Lonwabo Magugwana also joining Hope FC on loan.
The Immortals have been busy in the transfer window, as they aim to build a team for their maiden season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after gaining promotion from the ABC Motsepe League, just one season after acquiring the status of Sea Point Swifts in 2025.
They’ve already secured experienced former Bucs midfielder Miguel Timm, are edging closer to securing Lyle Lakay, while Keagan Dolly is currently going through an assessment at the club.
They added young energy with Nande Wetbooi, Thamsanqa Magwaza, Selwyn Stevens, Tauric Gamaldien and Tyler Cicero. Clayton Daniels and Zama Diyelela will lead the team after the departure of Dylan Dean.
This publication understands the Western Cape ABC Motsepe League champions are not done in the transfer window as they are still looking at getting more players.
