Sekhukhune United head coach Cedric Kaze is aiming for quick adaptation of the new goalkeeper, Melusi Buthelezi after he joined from Orlando Pirates.

Buthelezi, 28, surprisingly left Pirates just before their pre-season tour to Spain, and was immediately snatched by Sekhukhune United, who recently lost Renaldo Leaner on a free transfer to Kaizer Chiefs.

The former TS Galaxy player immediately walked into the starting line-up of Babina Noko in the pre-season tournament, the Mafori Cup, which was held in Limpopo on Saturday.

Buthelezi kept two clean sheets in those two games and led Babina Noko to win the trophy, after two 1-0 wins over Polokwane City and Magesi FC.

With the Betway Premiership season starting in just six days, Kaze stated that it was important to play the goalkeeper in both games as they need him to adapt as quickly as possible.

“Buthelezi is a goalkeeper who came to us two weeks ago and didn’t have game-much time last season,” Kaze told the media.

“It’s also important to try to speed up his integration by playing him with different defenders and different players to give him time to adapt very quickly and get him ready for the start of the season; those are the reasons to play him in both games.”
