The Premier Soccer League have announced the details for this coming weekend’s MTN8 quarter-finals.
The Top 8 from last season will battle it out for this campaign’s MTN8 competition, with defending champions Orlando Pirates having won the trophy four years in a row.
They are now just one win away from match record champions Kaizer Chiefs who have lifted the trophy 15 times, however their last coming in 2014.
The last team other than Pirates to win the trophy were Mamelodi Sundowns in 2021, but Masandawana have lifted the trophy only four times overall.
This weekend, Pirates kick off the quarter-finalts with another much-anticipated fixture at the Orlando Amstel Arena against last year’s Nedbank Cup winners Durban City on Saturday at 15:00.
At 18:00 on Saturday, Sundowns kick off their domestic campaign after their Betway premiership opener got postponed, hosting Polokwane City at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
The action continues on Sunday, when AmaZulu host Sekhukhune United at Chatsworth Stadium at 15:00, while record champions Chiefs welcome Golden Arrows at FNB Stadium at 18:00.
