Kaizer Chiefs youngster Luke Baartman is hoping for more goalscoring moments after opening his account for the Glamour Boys.
The 20-year-old has featured in all three of Chiefs’ Betway Premiership matches, scoring one goal which was in the 2-0 against Sekhukhune United last week. He also started the season with a Man of the Match performance in their 3-1 win over Kruger United.
Speaking to the club’s website, the former Cape Town Spurs academy player paid homage to the technical team who have shown great faith in him since the beginning of the current campaign.
“It has been a good start to the season. It’s always great to win early on to bolster the momentum of the team,” he said.
“I just want to thank the coach and his technical team for giving me the opportunity to start the game and believing in me.
“Scoring the goal was a very proud moment for me. I am grateful to my teammates for helping me to get my first goal and I wish to score many more.
“Our supporters are amazing, always turning out in big numbers and being there for us. It is comforting to know they have our backs and we try to reciprocate by giving our best every time we step onto the field.”
