The Zimbabwe Football Association have appointed Spanish manager Ramon Catala as their new head coach, which sees the end of the short spell of Kaitano Tembo.
ZIFA confirmed the appointment of Catala as their new head coach ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The 65-year-old holds a UEFA Pro Licence, and recently left Qatari side Al-Sailiya SC where he was assistant coach. He brings along two Spanish coaches as part of his technical team, namely Marc Sanchez and Vicente Girona Izquierdo.

Catala is familiar with African football as he was technical director of the Libyan national team between May 2021 and June 2022. He has also been with the Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kyiv as Academy Manager.
Zimbabwe aim to qualify for the upcoming AFCON which will be held in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda in June-July 2027. The edition will be expanded to 28 teams from 24 teams.
The AFCON qualifiers will kick off in the last week of September, when the Warriors will face Sierra Leone and DR Congo before a double-header against Equatorial Guinea in the November international break.
