Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has reflected on Deano van Rooyen’s departure from the club.
The Buccaneers confirmed this week that they had mutually agreed to part ways with the defender.
Ouaddou praised the defender as a fantastic player both on and off the pitch, saying he was proud to have worked with him and wished him all the best for the future.
The Pirates coach also highlighted Van Rooyen’s commitment, saying he always gave his best whenever he wore the Buccaneers badge.
“Deano was a fantastic player, in terms of sports and as a human,” said Ouaddou.
“He gave a lot to the club, he won a lot of trophies and gave joy to the fans, he gave joy to the club as well.
“I think it’s part of life for the club to have some movements. So, the club and him found a way to continue his career elsewhere.
“I was very proud to work with him and want to wish him all the best for his next project.”
