Cape Town City remains winless after failing to beat 10-man Leicesterford FC.
Cape Town City came into the game already under pressure after losing their opening game of the season 2-1 to Real Natives FC away from home, meanwhile Leicesterford City.
The visitors, immediately showed that they are not in Cape Town for jokes as they took the lead inside the 15th minute through Lehlohonolo Mtshali.
CT City didn’t sit back they started to cause problems for the Leicesterford. CTC were close to drawing level in the 22nd minute, A good delivery from the set piece fell loose inside the area, with Telile reacting quickest and striking the upright.
Four minutes later, CT City paid off as Kaydan Francis was brought down inside the area and the referee pointed to the spot. Rai Vloet stepped up and made it 1-1.
With eight minutes remaining before halftime break, drama occurred when Emile Witbooi was brought down on the edge of the area. The referee initially pointed to the spot, but after consultation with his assistant, the decision was changed to a free kick just outside the box. The visitors are reduced to 10 men as Kamohelo Segopa is shown a straight red card.
Leicester City managed to hold on to 1-1 at halftime.
Second half began, Leicesterford with clear intentions which to sit back and possibly walk away with a draw. Despite CT City being a man advantage they didn’t take advantage of that.
The 10-man of Leicersterford City managed to keep CTC at bay in ty second half as the score remained 1-1 on final whistle.
