Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the signing of former Orlando Pirates right-back Deano Van Rooyen on a free transfer.
Van Rooyen, 29, left Pirates earlier this window after two seasons with the Buccaneers after both parties agreed to mutually part ways.
Sundowns now snapped the full-back up on a free transfer after the long-term achilles injury to Khuliso Mudau, while back-up Mdunyelwa also got injured.
On Sunday, Masandawana announced the signing of Van Rooyen ahead of their clash with Golden Arrows.
“This is a club built on ambition and excellence. I’m here to work, to grow, to give everything,” he stated.
“My name is Deano Van Rooyen and I’m proud to be joining a club that never stops rising.”
Van Rooyen made 51 appearances for the Buccaneers and won five trophies during his time at Mayfair.
