Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Rushing De Reuck was on the score sheet as Simba SC beat Azam 2-0.
Steve Barker’s side kept their 100% alive, making it six wins in six league games, while handing Azam their first defeat of the season.
De Reuck scored the opener after 59 minutes, while Clatous Chama made it 2-0 in the 68th minute.
Simba stayed in second spot on 18 points, level on points with with Young Africans but Manqoba Mngqithi’s men have the better goal difference.
Young Africans beat Geita Gold 1-0 on Tuesday despite playing since the 19th minute with one men down after Stephane Aziz Ki had been sent off.
But Oumar Camara scored the winner in the 55th minute, which saw Mngqithi’s side make it six wins out of six games in Premier League.
