Defending champions South Africa cruised to a convincing 2-0 win over Angola in their second COSAFA CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers Group B clash at the ABB Stadium on Monday afternoon.
Head coach Raymond Mdaka rang two changes from the side that beat Lesotho 3-0 on Saturday with Kamohelo Mareletse and Milimo Nalumango making way for Cape Town City duo Cayden Fortune and Emile Witbooi who missed the opening clash.

After thwarting off the Angolan threat earlier on, Amajita took the lead in the 13th minute through captain Lazola Maku who was on the end of Steven Mendes’s low cross to make it 1-0 with a pile drive into the top right corner.
In the 40th minute, it was 2-0 for SA with Mendes rising highest from Witbooi’s free-kick to head past the Angolan goalkeeper for his third goal of the tournament with South Africa taking the huge advantage into the break.
The second period was far and few between the two sides with no chances really created.
In the end, Mdaka’s charges held on to topple the Angolans from the top of the group and move on six points.
The 10-time champions will now conclude their group game against minnows Eswatini on Wednesday, 23 September, to determine the group winners.
